Of course, you can say that is an artha vaada. The text says saying vishhNu sahasranaama 1000 times is equivalent to saying shiva sahasranaama once and saying shiva sahasranaama 1000 times is equivalent to saying lalitaa sahasranaama once. Thus the million. Of course saying lalitaa trishatii once is much more powerful than LS itself (again from uttara bhaaga of trishatii -- in crores). Again you can discount this as artha vaada (Satish will not like it though :-)) ) There are some unique features in LS a) There are no repeating names (VS has quite a few) b) There are no meaningless particles such as cha, eva etc. names flow one after another as a pravaaham c) It has exactly 1000 names (others often have less). I am greatly interested in knowing how VishhNu sahasranaama (VS) is an anusandhaan of shrii vidya? Can you post more on it. I have seen only the shankara bhaashhya on VS cursorily. What is the source of this knowledge. If there are any pointers kindly tell me and your help will be greatly appreciated. [Or did you intend to say LS]. With respects, Ravi
Guest guest
shri srinivasan & shri ravi pranam both of you are learned & i am just a beginer but however i am of the opinion that there is no point in comparing two or more strotras all the deities are manifestation of one Supreme ( you may call Bramhan ) how one stotra can be called less powerful than the other i think that it isw the devotion which may make a stotra most powerful with regards opseth "M.
