Guest guest
Sub : Guru Gita ( GG ) ( Part one ) GG deals with the need and importance of having Guru Bhakthi. GG is a part of “ Skanda Purana “ in the Brahma samhitha in uttara kanda and set as a dialogue between Shiva and Parvathi.. GG has three chapters with 94 slokas in the first chapter 115 slokas in the second and 65 slokas in the third chapter. GG is a very important scripture that every devotee whether he is doing upasana of Maha ganapathy or Surya Narayana or Maha Vishnu or Shiva or Ambaal.( Second Chapter of GG stotra 115.) should know and recite. This GG is very effective to even a person seeking a sath guru for spiritual upliftment. The necessity and role of a of a Guru is also described in Srimad Bhagawatham, Gynavashishtam By Guru’s grace one can, not only get material benefit but also spiritual benefit. A sishya with guru Bhakthi gets the sastra Gyna without even reading the scriptures. The swaydasuvathara Upanishad says that whosoever has Bhakthi to God and Guru in equal measure, the knowledge of the Upanishads become apparent. Before we go into the contents of GG it is vital to know the status of Guru in our upasana. SRI VIDYA UPASANA AND IMPORTANCE OF GURU Guru is the greatest power of in the form of the grace of god. He becomes the means called guru sakthi by giving the field and scope for the force to act. The guru is the first power thought to be in the form of deliberation and hence it is Devi’s grace. This power of grace inherent in the mouth of the Guru is greater than the guru himself. ( So it is very important Not to look into the Human Weaknesses of Guru as Guru is beyond the Sthula Sharira ). The divine mother out of compassion assumes the form of guru to lift a striving soul and grant him the power of realizing the supreme Truth. At the time of world creation in the kritha yuga Sri Kaameswara himself assumed the name of Sri Charyananda natha, shone with his supernatural light as the Maha Guru, in the thretha yuga he was uddeesananda natha, in the dwapara uga he was sashteesa nanda natha and in the kali yuga he is mithresa nanda natha..( >From Sri Vidya Guru Mandala Archana of Navavarana puja ) All Sri Vidya Gurus are connected indirectly to the aforesaid Guru Mandala and therefore the understanding of the guru mandalaas and the place of Swaguru, Parama guru, Parameshti Guru assume a significant importance in the sadhana. The Swaguru connects the entire gamut of Hierarchy of the guru mandalas and the guru is beyond the physical appearance and looked upon as the deity sought to be realized. The theory and practice of Sri Vidya upasana can be summarized as the identification of Sadhak,Manthra,Guru, deity,Sadhak’s mind, His Jeeva as ONE by destruction of the nama, rupa bedha and in that state there is unfoldment of SELF ( Ambaal ).It is a dangerous delusion to look upon a guru as a human being, the image or a srichakra as piece of metal, mantra as a mere cluster of letters. By guru’s grace the uncontrollable and restless mind is controlled and made calm for realization of the self. That form of sakthi in the controlled mind is truly blissful. To be concluded. ganapathy ganapathy = = vijaya <srividya101 wrote:Dear shree Raviji, Pranams. i just missed replying this mail due to oversight. At the outset I thank you for arranging to send a copy of the CD mentioned and my address is being mailed to your personal ID. The collection of books in my personal library includes books By Anna on Vedas, many upanishads, Life and teachings of Ramana, Ramakrishna paramahamsa, J. krishnamurthy, Arubindoo, books on Sri Vidya By Anna, Chidanandanathar, Najan, Narenra Shrimali, most of the books of Sir Arthur Avlon, Shankara's Bhasyam on gita, tatva bhodha and many more books -- topics on Our great Heritage , Bhakhtha Vijayam , Panchdashi by vidyaranya swamygal , books on Dwaitha and Vashishtadwitha, Voice of the Divine ( Maha Swamy's Deivathin kural ) etc As you know we can buy books but it cannot buy any ' knowledge" -- True to this statement , i have not even opened most of the books , remaining an ignorant fool inspite of possessing a treasure. Most of the books on Vedanta which i have browsed , confuses me even after an indepth study, making me wonder at the end, what i have read about. In my personal opinion , Mahaswamy's "Voice of the divine" is the most simplest book but in terms of knowledge is an ocean. while trying to find time to read , I only pray to Devi constantly that at least in my life time, i must atleast read all the books which i have atleast for once and I sholud have the necessary intellect to absorb this Vidya , the only True knowledge. Let me start with some of the books on Sri Vidya in my next mail. This would begin with Guru Gita, Maha Ganapathy ( Important for a sadhak ) , LS, Trishati, Soundarya Lahari, Devi Mahatmeeyam , Devi Bhagawatham, Ahbhirami Andathi, muka Panchadasi, Other Ambaal sahasranamas, Devi stotras, Devi Upanishads and Devi Sukthas. I would be giving a brief description of its contents and publishers name, as i am doubtful whether i can bring the glory of the book in the same way it is presented. Jai to Ma who is as " Vidya -- Avidya Swarupini " "M. S. Ravisankar" <ravi wrote: Respected Sri Ganapathyji: Please send me your mailing address. I will mail the Meenakshi Mahima MP3 CD tomorrow.
