Guest guest
Pranams. During my last trip to Banglaore in Dec , I happened to meet my distant relative Mrs. Anthalakshmi Natarajan after many years, whose Guru Bhakthi to HH Sringeri Mahasannidhanam had conferred her the title " Guru Padhuka dhulee ". Most of her time , is devoted in training the Children of her locality, in Chanting various Devi Shlokas, Gita, Jayadeva Ashta pathi and other scriptures including the Nrithya. She also teaches sanskrit and does Pravarchans. I happened to gate crash , when some class was going on but she was kind enough to spend some time with me. While exchanging our thoughts on spiritual matters, She suddenly told me to recite a shloka from Soundarya lahari and at the first instance I didn't understand why she asked me to do so but I promptly obliged her by reciting one of the Hundred Shlokas. The children who were watching us immediately understood the purpose and as soon I stopped , they picked up the last syllable and started reciting one after the other either a verse from Devi or Gita Shloka or verses from some sahsranama , continuously for about 30 minutes. Before I could think on anything the Children bursting with energy, armed with knowledge and memory could recite fluently -- easily winning the entire credit. What a novel way to train the children I thought . She later on told me that once in a year, she takes all her Sishyas to Jagad Guru Sringeri Swamygal , this anthakshari is played in the very prescence of the HH and the Jagad guru himself commences this with the first Shloka. I thought of sharing this experience to others who are involved in similar teaching.
