Guest guest
Namaste all. In the dhyana-shlokas preceding the text of the Vishnu shasranama, there is a shloka beginning with "bhUh-pAdau yasya nAbhir .." The fourth line of this shloka has "chitram ram ramyate tam ..." What is the meaning of "ram" here? PraNAms to all profvk Prof. V. Namaste, I think there is a simpler explanation that deals with the root "ram" which means "delights in", "sports" etc. Please see http://www.ramanuja.org/sv/bhakti/archives/mar96/0037.html Also, here is the (Paninian ?) reference from the Cologne Lexicon for the root word "ram" which Smt.Aarathi Sankaran or Smt.Vidya are better qualified to explain %{raMramyate} or %{raMramIti} Pa1n2. 7-4 , 85. [Cf. Zd. ram , Gk. $ , &262829[867 ,2] $ , $ ; Lith. {rimti} ; Goth. {rimis}.]
