Memorial for Pujyasri Bhaskaracharya APPEAL TO DEVOTEES

Pujyasri Bhaskaracharya is a great scholar of Samskrit, well versed in several

Sastras, proficient in Veda, Agama & Vedanta, the doyen of Srividya, devout

Sadhaka in Sakthi Upasana, master of Tantra Sastra and author of many books,

commentaries, treatises etc numbering over 40 covering a wide & rare variety of

subjects. He spent major part of his life in a village on the banks of river

Kaveri near Tiruvalankadu, Tanjavur till his end which place is now called

Bhaskararajapuram. This proved to be the best and the most fruitful part of his

life as he authored most of his renowned books and performed several miracles

during this period.

 

Pujyasri Bhaskaracharya’ s works are highly extolled for their scholastic &

research excellence, vastness & depth of knowledge, richness of intellectual

acumen laced with spiritual experience and distinctiveness out of transcendental

revelation. It will be an understatement if we just say that he had done

excellent & commendable service to the literary, philosophic, religious and

spiritual heritage of India and the world. He had done much more. He had been

ordained with the unique distinction of producing masterpieces covering several

important areas & subjects which are not touched by his celebrated predecessor

and the highly revered Acharya & Jagathguru His Holiness “Pujyasri Adisankara

Baghavatpada” who authored a plethora of original works and commentaries

(Bhashyams) on literary, philosophic, religious and spiritual subjects.

 

Sri Lalita Sahasranama one of the most popular & highly revered stotrams, the

chanting of which is a regular routine among not only Hindus but also others

contains 1000 names of Sri Lalita Devi a Divine personification of Sakti who in

turn is the manifestation of female divinity and the energizing power of any

divinity. It was left to Pujyasri Bhaskaracharya to bring out Bhashyam

(Commentary) on Sri Lalitha Sahasranama called ‘Soubhagya Bhaskaram’ which is

highly regarded and as one of the most outstanding and celebrated masterworks.

In this work he made references 169 Grandhas (ancient texts), which clearly

indicates his abundant & all-around knowledge and scope & depth of research.

 

Such a great personage surely deserves not only reverence & adulation but also

much more to perpetuate and cherish his memory and his works. Inspired by

Pujyasri Bhaskaracharya’ s life & works and filled with a deep & long felt

adoration towards him we were seized with a great and noble yearning to

construct a suitable Memorial as our humble homage to this great soul. We

"Pujyasri Bhaskaracharya Memorial Foundation" & “Sri Lalitha Sahasranama Sahasra

Suvasini Pooja Samithi” under the auspices of “Viswa Srividya Parishad –

Dakshina Bharatam” have joined together and decided to establish a monument to

commemorate the memory of Pujyasri Bhaskaracharya in a fitting manner at

Bhaskararajapuram, Tiruvalankadu, Near Kumbhakonam, Tamilnadu where he lived. We

call upon and appeal to one and all to join in this memorable & great venture

and contribute your might and make it successful.

 

For contributions of Rs. 10,000 and above the name of the Donor will be engraved

in the stone along with list of other such donors. It is requested that at least

Rs.600/- is contributed by every devotee to meet the cost of one square foot of

built up area of the Memorial. Contributions in kind also are welcome provided

they are suitable and are in consonance with the general plan. Exemption u/s 80G

will be available for contributions by crossed Cheques and Drafts drawn in

favour of “Pujyasri Bhaskaracharya Memorial Foundation” and made payable at

Chennai provided confirmation along with Income tax P.A No. is given in the

prescribed form.

 

We earnestly request you all to actively participate in this noble & lofty

endeavor and donate liberally.
