Guest guest
--- jami108 <jami108: "jami108" <jami108 Jai Maa! I was under the impression that anusvara, with which biijaakSaras end, is pronounced differently depending on what letter follows, even if in a new word. Anusvara followed by "k", "kh", "g", or "gh" would be pronounced "ng". So "kriiM" would sound like "kriing" if followed by "kaalii", but would sound like "kriiM" if standing alone or followed by a word like "maataa". Of course, even in the case of "kriiM" standing alone, it is ambiguous by this rule in the case of repeating the biikaakSara over and over. And it also goes without saying that the Guru's instructions trump all rules of saMskRt ! ('m' becoming 'ng' might happen when we do the bheeja manthra japa even a little faster.)
