Guest guest
Pranams. Who is DIVINE MOTHER. Our eternal Dharma is built on solid foundations of the Vedas and Tantras. In both these ways of knowledge which is the very breath of the Supreme, sufficient importance has been given to the path that worships the supreme as " Divine Mother ". The veda gave to the prime mover the appellation Aditi, the primodial force which extends in all and contains in all, the supreme Shakthi -- the Divine Mum who give births to the gods and the goddesses. The Tantra proclaims shakthi is the origin and source of ALL . " SHE THE ONE" desired to be many and became Many with various Names and Forms. So in whatever form one worships they worship HER ONLY. Her different forms are for different purposes. like kaali for the eternal time, Tara devi for Pasyanthivaak, Bhuveneswari for Ether or Aakash,Bhairavi for Paravaak etc. The Buddhism is based on upasana of Tara Devi. As your question covers many forms it is difficult to discuss about many forms and for one form itself one may have to cover in many articles. You may refer to some of our old mails from the web site which describes in details some of the forms. The Reality is ONE wisemen speak of Many. I read Ramakrishna Parmahansa, Parmahansa Yogananda and many many others talk about HER. But is there a equivalency ? Is she Ma Parvati, Ma Durga, Ma Kali, Ma Laxmi, Ma Saraswati? WHo is she? When we recite the Lalitha Sahasranama, are we praying to our Divine mother? Also, I hear of Yakshini? Can someone create a chart for the Divine Mothers name as referred in Zen Buddhism to the names used in Hinduism? Can we even think of such a chart? 1. Kali 2. Tara 3. Shodasi 4. Bhuvaneshvari 5. Bhairavi 6. Chinnamasta 7. Bagalamukhi 8. Dhumavati 9. Matangi 10.
