I too think that without obtaining a mantra from a SatGuru and without Love, it is better not to adopt bijaksharas for chanting. Thank you for the apt comment that the Guru is a an enlightened soul, beyond ego and ignorance and that Guru= God. Withot an enlightened soul's guidance, it is almost impossible for an ignorant jiva to attain the Lord .
