Furhter : I have heard many people saying that the first signs of onslaught of attack of small pox is recognizable on the patient on FRIDAY or TUESDAY. I did not beleive this till the lesser version of the disease -- The " Chicken pox " affected my son on a Tuesday and my daughter on a Friday. This form of Devi is worshipped not only for these types of diseases but also for all types of skin diseases and skin problems like pimples, allergic skin, warts, eczemia etc. Recalling my Childhood experience, my elder brother was infected with the wart on fingers and soon it started spreading to the family and I was the first one to contact it. The warts started virtually invading my thumb externally. On the advise of the Dhobi of my house, I went to the Kempamma Temple at Ulsoor Bangalore on five fridays and poured Curd and salt at a particular place kept for this purpose.Soon the warts started diminishing and totally vanished. My brother who thought these practices as strange and nonsense chose to cure it scientifically and electrically by Charring it. Though the warts vanished, Believe me this has left two big ugly scars on his fingers which is still visible today after 30 yrs.perhaps he must be regretting his decision even to-day. Kempamma in Kannada means RED AMMA and this Devi can be equated to Mariamman of Tamil Nadu. Whenever I visit this temple even now , I reacall her KarunaKataksham. Mariamman in the local Tamil Dialect is known as Mahamaayee in Tamil Nadu and Maha Swamy says She is " MAHA MAYE " which got converted as mahamaayee. JAI MAHAMAAYEE Ganapathy Ganapathy --- Vijaya " Jai Bhavani " - - - - " Jai Sri Lalitha Maha Maha Tripura Sundari " " Sarvam Shakti Mayam Jagath " Search - Find what you’re looking for faster.
