Guest guest
--- vani vani <singaporevani: Om Namashivaya In all scriptures, songs ( such as thevaram), paintings, Goddess Sakthi is pictured as sitting on the left of Shivan. Infact on the "Arthanareshwarar" (half-sakthi half shivam), Sakthi is always put in the left. So in almost all incidences, Sakthi is pictured to be the left of shivam. But i was just wondering, how about in the so called marriage of Shivam in Sakthi, as in Soundarajan wedds Meenathchi, Shivan weds Parvathy recorded by the puranams? Did Sakthi followed the traditional Hindu marriage procedure of sitting right to the husband. Or did she sat left as in the traditional procedures often handled? Even though the position doesnt matter, is some culture as in Islam, the bride always sits on the left of the bridegroom. But why in Hindu culture, where in paintings Sakthi recides on the left to Shivan, does in one in the wedding the bride sits right to the bridegroom? I am very puzzled by this. Even in the Venkathajalapathi, Padmavathy is pictured to his left in the wedding state in which devotees worship them. Could anyone throw some light in it.
