Guest guest
It felt so nice to read about Jaganmatha Bangaru Kamakshi. I recently had the opportunity to visit Bangaru Kamakshi Ambal's temple. I would just like to add more information regarding the rituals that take place at this temple. Ambal even though in the form of a utsava vigraham never goes out of the Sanctum. It is the other vigraham that is to the left of the Sanctum, known as Kamakoti, which goes out for utsavams. Abhishekam to Bangaru Kamakshi is performed only on 11 days a year, but I heard that devotees are not allowed to witness the abhishekam. To see in pictures, Ambal might appear as a pretty huge idol, but She is probably the height of about four feet. Probably, she almost the same height as Mangadu Kamakshi and is enshrined inside a silver mandapam. A Meru Prastharam is kept at the feet of Ambal, to which the everyday abhishekams are performed. Like the Dikshitars of Chidambaram, here the priests are called Stanikargal. As it is written earlier, watching Ambal from close quarters absolutely puts one into a kind of an ecstasy. Ambal is so beautiful and the divine smile is absolutely unmatched and cannot be expressed whatsoever. Even if you have looked at Her for hours, you would not want to take away your eyes from her.
