Guest guest Posted March 28, 2004 Report Share Posted March 28, 2004 Appalum adi saarndhar is ofcourse a general reference in Peria puranam but it falls under the classification called THOKAI ADIYAAR.There are 9 thokai adiyaargal apart from the 63 Naayanmaars.Interestingly all the 9 thokai adiyaargal are general classifications like Appalum adi saarndhaar muppodhum thirumeni theenduvaar muzu neeru poosia munivar sithathai sivan paal vaithaar.etc. Sekkizar,who sung peria puranam classifies them as 9 thokai adiyaargal. ganapathy = = vijaya <srividya101 wrote: Pranams. The uniqueness of this song is worth to note.When you join the words and delete the otrzuthukkal (words with the dot on it),there are 63 letters to denote 63 Naayanmaars. Similarly,when you seperate the words (asai pirithal)and delete the otrezuthukkal,there are 72 letters,to denote 63 Naayanmaars and 9 Thokai Adiyaars.
