Guest guest
Dear All There was a query pertaining to Bhavani by a member. There is a very famous temple of Bhavani in Tuljapur in Maharashtra. This deity was worshipped by both Vijayanagar kings and Chattrapathi Shivaji. Tulja Bhavani is an important/family deity (referred to as Amba Bhavani) of many Madhva Vaishnavites who migrated to Thanjavur during the Maratha rule. I understand there is a Bhavani temple in Thanjavur district in Tamilnadu. This deity was worshipped intensively during disturbed conditions during Mughal period. Hence she is a very important deity for people with origins in Maharashtra cutting across sects. I have come across a Marathi composition on Bhavani,by Samartha Ramadas, guru of Chattrapathi Shivaji in a book. There is a beautiful sahasranama on Bhavani, though the dhyana sloka varies across regions. It is very protective in nature. The deity is an anugraha form of Parvati devi. Hence it is mandatory to worship in a satvic manner for satvic goals. Suresh Finance Tax Center - File online.
