Guest guest
DM – Chap 11 – forms of Devi – Post 3 In the last mail we had a glimpse of katyayani, Maya, Kala Kashta and Gowri. Further it was seen how DM is a Mantra Sadhana, the shlokas of which masks the Maya Beejaa of Bhuvaneshwari, giving the benefit of Chathur Veda Parayana bringing the Chitta Suddhi (purity of Mind) for the Realisation of AMBAA CONSIOUSNESS. The Brahma Shakthi -- Chandika gives a Divine assurance in the 12th Chapter as under. “ I shall never leave the abode where my Mahatmyam is well recited constantly. My standing presence is there “ This categorical assurance of Ambaaji motivates the sadhak to evoke her presence ( Knowingly or Unknowingly ) again and again by DM parayana . We all belong to different Dimensions of spiritual Evolution in this birth. Because of the Mixture of Satvic, Rajasic and Thamasic MINDS got as a result of Karma, due to the tendencies in our Minds we are not able to Visualize Devi and that is why it is said “ Unknowingly “ Devi is right there at the time of recital right in front and we are not fortunate to see Her. But one need not get discouraged, as Her very grace in the form of a GURU has attracted us to take the initiation of “ Navashari “ mantra – the qualifying mantra required by the Sadhak for Paryana. Bhagawaan Ramana Maharishi says about the importance of Guru as under. (While He himself did not have a Guru which is very exceptional and when such great Jivan Mukthas talk about a guru and the importance of a Guru, the NEED to have a guru for an ordinay mortal is overemphasized ) Quote from Ramana ……….. “ The Cosmic Mind Manifested in some Human being is able to Effect a linkage in other weak mind with the Universal Strong mind in the Inner Recess. Such being is called a GURU or GOD IN MANIFESTATION “ The knowledge of Sri Vidya cannot be learnt from books and one has to have the dedication to go to a Guru and get initiated as a result of which one finally realizes the Brahma Vidya – that is the realization Sadhak – Guru – Mantra – Deity is ONE. Guru’s grace = = Devi’s grace. Trying understanding the next two forms as per the first post are Brahmari and Maheswari. BRAHMARI or Brahmani She is the description or epithet of Durga by going round SETS RIGHT a disturbed Mind. As per Devi Bhagawatha once a demon named ArunaDhanava as a result of his Tapas got a boon from Brahma and tried to get an upper hand over Devas. Devas praying Devi was saved by Her form as Brahmari releasing a Host of BEES to kill the demon and his followers by making Holes in their bodies. Thus Brahmari removes All disturbances of a Devotee. We see constantly seeing in Puranas and Bhagawaths , whenever an Asura is involved there also corresponds a Deva. The esoteric meaning is in the Nature of Creation there are always Two forces – The Poistive and Negative Forces . Always it is the Positive one, which exists finally. Devi willing we can discuss this on a separate mail dealing with the ASURAS OF DM and their significance. MAHESWARI LS 750 and LS 208 deal with this Namavali . As LS is known for Non- Repetition of namas of devi – one would note that in LS 750 it is only Ma and in LS 208 it has a deergam MAA ( maaheswari ). She as Maheshwari represents the spouse of Paramashiva or Maheasha Patni. Or it can be taken also as the Shakthi of Maaheshwara who is the eswara of all Mahatmas. As per Linga Purana Maheshwara is the eshawra of all Bhutas and so eswari of such Maheshwara. Focusing the discussion on SRI AUROBINDO in his epoch making work – the jivan Muktha talks about Mother as Maheshwari as under. Quote : “The supreme divine mother as Maheshwari reigns above the thinking Mind and commands vastness of Consciousness and splendor of Light. She is the power of Wisdom, power of Knowledge. Her’ great Compassion that succors all beings without preference, the truth of this is her concern, knowledge her center of power, build our soul and our nature in the Divine truth with Her mission and Her Labor.” There is No difference between Lalitha Para Bhattarica and Chandi devi while the former is Divine Mum’s calm insistent force the latter is her terrific impatient force to all negativities, darkness and ignorance which a Jiva acquires as a result of MAYA. After being in this part of the Islamic world I have learnt some basics of Islam. Muslims in their conversations frequently remember God by saying “ INSHA ALLAH “ meaning God Willing. Therefore the next mail “ Devi Willing “ would be posted on other forms in due course. Jai Chandika Parameshwari.
