Guest guest
There is no difference between Sri Vidya and Brahma Vidya as Both relates to the Eternal Truth “ OM “. That which remains over after disappearance of objects is OM. It does not merge in anything and the state where one sees none other, hears none other, knows non other – Perfection in Totality. For this knowledge or Jnana, one takes to upasana as a way to win it (spoken from duality of object) and to the ultimate goal Jnana when only – ONE IS SELF EVIDENT. This effort is called upasana Marga which is an uninterrupted meditation upon a deity or a form or a sound ( beejam ) until one become that deity or form and by the Grace of deity the SELF UNFOLDS. At that juncture the Mantra = Deity = Guru= Self. This is what the above Para meant as one cannot learn the mantras from the books. For this to be fruitful one has approach a “ Guru “ with love, devotion , and total submission. It leads to the same goal as through the path of ‘ Self Enqury “ which is seeking the Self internally. In this Self enquiry mode there is no room for performing puja, japa, contemplation etc as there is absolutely no need to know anything outside ( Scripture – Devikalottara ) But Jnana path is possible only for a few in Kali Yuga. Bhagwaan Ramana who took to Self Enquiry path says : Quote : “Either ask yourself WHO I AM or Submit to me – I will strike down the mind.” The second path is the path of love and devotion. Sri Vidya also means She who is Panchadashi Mantra. Each kuta of Panchadashi Mantra has the same meaning as Gayathri Mantra. Sri Vidya can be classified into 4 types . Yagna Vidya – relating to Karmas, Maha Vidya – Upasana Vidya ( including Chandi Navakshari Vidya as per the mail, Guhya Vidya – The Secrective Manthra Vidya and the Atma Vidya – The Brahma Vidya. I hope you query has been rightly understood and with my negligible knowledge I have tried to explain. My misunderstanding on the subject matter can be corrected my learned members. The knowledge of Sri Vidya cannot be learnt from books and one has to have the dedication to go to a Guru and get initiated as a result of which one finally realizes the Brahma Vidya – that is the realization Sadhak – Guru – Mantra – Deity is ONE. Guru’s grace = = Devi’s grace. I know that Sri Vidya means auspcious knowledge. What is the difference between Sri Vidya and Brahma Vidya? Is Brahma Vidya higher than Sri Vidya?
