Sadhak and Upasana

Continuing the link with the earlier mail on Upasana, it was said that Enquiry

or Jnana mode which is antaranga is Direct and the secondary means of attaining

knowledge is through the Upasana and both are the two wings independent of each

other to fly to Mukthi.

 

 

 

Upasana is only a means and not an end by itself like Pole Vault jumper who

throws off the pole he is using on attaining the height and while jumping the

fence . So, one must not be struck in the upasana itself. ( This aspect one

need not worry as She would Take Care )

 

 

 

The Sadhak should necessarily have the following qualification - to Realize the

Self.

 

 

 

Discrimination between what is Eternal and What is Fleeting.

Absence of desire for the enjoyment of the fruits of one’s action in this

world.

Possession of the six virtues which are control of the mind.

Control of the sense organs

Cessation of activity, fortitude.

Faith in the Scriptures and GURU.

Concentration of Mind.

Above all YEARNING for Liberation.

With this the Grace of Ambaaji would descend to enquire into the meaning of

Maha Vaakyas – hearing, reflection and uninterrupted contemplation.

 

 

 

With this the Mind acquires the purity with the absence of DOER and the

worshipper is the REAL SELF.
