Guest guest
Chapter 11 – DM – Forms of Devi – Post 4 .. Regarding the number of forms of gods and goddesses in the Hindu Pantheism, there may be a doubt – why so many. The truth is that there is only one “ Divine mother” presiding over everything and it is also true there exists a number of Gods and Goddesses in the scheme of HER WILL.It should be noted that one God does not Negate the other and each operate in their field of operation just like the limbs to the ONE SUPREME, to perform a specific function in the creation. Our scriptures say there are 7 crores of mantras for different forms. Godhead are posited in various planes of the consciousness and is very easy for a human being to get into lower level deities to get some Powers like manipulating things from one corner to the other, creating Articles from the air etc. These deities would not lead a person very far and soon the frustration and limitation returns and in the process his entire efforts also gets wasted in doing silly things for money or popularity. The great cause of all pains to human beings is the Revolving in the cycle of transmigration of souls due to the ignorance caused by limited nature, ignorance due to sense of duality and ignorance brought by the likes and dislikes which gives a false sense of hate and love. It was also said in the last mail that the term “ Sri Vidya “ includes the Maha Vidya which is the Upasana Vidya which can’t be learn from Books and the need for Guru necessarily exists. The term Maha Vidya means – Upasana Vidya “ The Chandi or Laitha “ or Her other Forms . The sadhak progresses slowly under the Guru’s tutelage but very steadily ..From time to time he gets the signals of grace from the supreme. Initially His every action is referred or motivated to the deity for the success of an objective. But soon he realizes the impermanency of the action itself or it gets fulfilled and slowly shifts his objective to higher objective which is the ultimate goal of all spiritual paths. DM – from the Markandeya Purana has been acclaimed as a great Sadhana Sashtra to get our KARMIC MIND which is always looking out for Peace and bliss , shifted from the external Body Consciousness, To the internal “ Amba Om “ Consciousness. FORMS OF AMBAAJI - Contd SHAKAMBARI and SATHAKSHI The power of Mother durga , that noursishes and fills the entire world with life sustaining Vegetables produced out of Her own Body during the Calamity caused by the failure of rains. Sathakshi literally means the one with numerable eyes. I have combined both these forms because of the puranic instance elaborated further. Being a form of Durga She is Avyaktha the imperceptible Wisdom. Purana explains that nobody in the cosmos can tread her Soverignity. Once there was a demon named Durgama, the son of King Ruru.he did tapas and Brahma granted a boon and got all the Vedas with which the asura tried to over power the Devas, thinking that without the support of Vedas the devas would get weak and thereby easily conquerable. In this situation slowly the powers of Devas were weakened and RAINS totally stopped. The Devas approached the Sovereign deity who appeared as Shakambari with Shaka and other Vegetables produced out of her own body . She as Sathakshi poured out Water out of Her innumerable eyes for 9 nights to bring the environment to normalcy and the demon was killed. It was devas who gave the names as ‘ Shakambari ‘ complexion being Deep blue and Shathaksi with blue lotus’s Eyes.. ( as per gayathri Sahasranam ) It is common all over India to decorate the Ambaaji with all types of Vegetables and the Muscat Temple is No exception. At Muscat it is done to Shree Nathji who is also Govindarupini. The vegetables are so wonderfully carved that it is pleasure to look at it recalling the Puranic episode of shakambari Devi and a mental exercise too to identify the vegetable as it is. NARASIMHI The One who is the expression of Compassion with Matched Valor also. She is the power of Lord Narasimha who appeared from the pillar to save this devotee Prahalada who was tortured by his Father HiranyaKasyspa. The Lord was drawn out of Compassion to the Devotess here and at the same time ferocious to the Wicked. YOU CAN HURT THE GOD and God would be tolerant BUT TO HIS DEVOTEE. That is the lesson of this episode of Bagwatha. Narasimhi is also the power of Self or the spiritual awakening of the Heart. She destroys the Karmic mind to bring or divert it to the Heart to awaken the spiritual Consciousness. She is also one of the 7 Mother that surround Ambaaji as Sapta Matrukas.
