Guest guest
Dear All, Namaste. I want to understand more about the Lord's Bhairava Murthams. 1. There seem to be several Bhairava Murthams although the mostly commonly known ones are Kalabhairava, SwarnAkarshaNa Bhairava, and Vatuka Bhairava (and Ananda Bhairava). The AShTha Bhairavas referred to in Kalpokta Durga Puja Vidhi seem to be a quite different set. 2. When one says just Bhairava, which of the Bhairava Murtham does it refer to - Kala Bhairava, SwarnAkarshaNa Bhairava or Vatuka Bhairava? 3. Are there any specific details in terms of significance of the murtham, objectives of worship of these murthams etc. For example, I have heard that Kalabhairava worship is advised for difficult Rahu Dasa and/or those are timid in nature. Swarnakarshana Bhairava for warding off financial difficulties etc. How valid/accepted are these prescriptions? 4. Is the corresponding Devi form "Bhairavi" treated as a specific upasana form? Thanks & Regards, Murali
