But these days when Dravya Shuddhi is a difficult thing, one should seriously consider before using things in Srichakrarchana. .................................................................................\ ................................................ ............................................................... In In the Sri Vidya Navavarana Puja, ( SNP ) , I would like to explain how the " Dravya Shuddhi " is taken Care of automatically through the Mantras itself. While any Devi Devotee doing this Maha Yaga Krama ,would reasonably take care and ensure to Offer the Best of available materials, flowers, fruits etc to Mathaji, it may not be Always be possible to Control the quality aspects and specially in our Mother India. But the Sadhak need not get be unduly concerned for the reasons discussed and the subject matter of mail. While in an ordinary puja all puja materials - say flowers or fruits are cleaned washed and offered before the deity directly or in some pujas there could be a kalasha sthapana only and its water sprinkled on the puja materials . But in SNP before anything is offered to Devi all the items including the Physical items of the upacharas given to Devi undergoes "TOTAL Purification " process through POTENT mantras. SNP involves a three stage installation of three distinct Patras Known as " Patra Sadhana". The first patram is known as Vardhani Kalasam wherein a trikonam is drawn with Mathsya Mudra and mool Mantra is recited to the three corners of the Trikona for Adaram or base and on this the Kalasha is kept with water. The Kalasha Puja invokes into the water of Kalasha all the holy rivers, the Brahmanda, the seven Dweepas, the seven oceans, vedas and vedantas topped by POTENT - Panchadashi Mantras with Denu Mudra ( Kamadenu ) and the first purification of all materials is done with this holy water. The Second Patra is known as " Samaanyaargyam Patra" wherein a Shanku is installed and Kalasha jala is poured into it. But before this Patra is placed, elaborate procedures are involved in darwaing a yantra and to each of these corners of yantra, puja is done with mantras followed by adhara puja following a specific procedure. then finally shanku is kept on it and to this Shanku, puja is done in a particular order. The agni mandala, Surya mandala and soma mandala are invoked through mantras. Into the shanku water with the Mudras and Moola mantra a Divine Charge is created. This water is finally sprinkled TO PURIFY -- all the materials used SNP - Viz flowers, fruits and other physical materials including th the Atma. The third patram is known as Visheshargya Patram which involves elaborate installation procedures similar to the earlier one involving yantras, installation of Adaram, and invoking Surya kala, Soma kala, Brahma Kala,Vishnu Kala, Rudra kala, Eshwara kala, Sadhashiva kala involving many Mantras , moola mantras at different stages and Finally a little of this Visheshargyam is transferred to Kalasa patra and this Kalasha Jalam is ONLY USED FOR ALL UPACHARAS. Note. These procedures are only outlined for a general understanding ( It is not in the prescribed order and the aforesaid note is a NON TECHNICAL ONE) . Neivaidhyam or the Final offering to MOTHER -- involves EXTENSIVE PURIFICATION of the COOKED Materials with Moola mantras ,Vayu Beejam, Agni Beejam,Amrutha Beejam , Shanku Jalam, Veshshargyam and Vedic Mantras recited before it is given to Ambaaji with love and affection . this is inspite of the Fact that cooking of Neivaidhyam is done with Achara, Care and cleanliness. Our Great Maharishies of Sanathana Dharma have recognised the fact that an error can occur in spite of a deligent care in Dravyas and to mitigate it, the mantric procedures are prescribed which has the effect of removing errors, pollution of materials and amounts to TOTAL PURIFICATION of materials offered to the DIVINE Mother. Therefore I do not agree with the view of the respected writer of mail on Dravya Suddhi as NO POLLUTION can take palce.
