Ref ur mail, Guru lightening/ lessening/ healing/ eliminating the sorrow/ pain in the body, I thought of a great Bhagavathothama, who took the pain of Guru to himself (ofcourse the teacher of Vyakarana) and suffered a lot and finally got rid of it with the blessings and Anugraha of sri Guruvayoorappan. He is sri Narayabhattadhri, who wrote Sriman Narayaneeyam, and brought the essence of Srimad Bhagavatham in 1036 slokas. Bhattadhri had his early age studies under his father's guidance; Rig veda under Sri Madhavachariar; Tharka sastram under Dhamodarachariar and finally vyakarana under sri Achyuthabhisharadi in the age of 16. His guru was severely suffering from vadharogam and sri Bhattadhri could not bear or see his guru's sufferings. Hence he prayed to God and told that if his guru sisrusha is very true, then his guru should get relief from the vadarogam,. He did this because of his yogabalam. He also said that he would be ready to take that leg pain for himself. Within minutes his guru got cured of this rogam but Bhattadri had to undergo this pain severely. At one stage, he could not bear it and he asked his mates to take him to Guruvayoor, where he wrote 10 slokas a day. On the final day, he got relief from the vadarogam and also got darshan of Sri Guruvayoorappa. I know the Guru u refer to is not the guru of this type. When I read ur mail, this story came to my mind and i wrote it. Namaskarams. Reply to a private mail , is posted to the group as it may be relevant to all of us. Karmas have to be exhausted by the concerned persons or in rare cases the Guru out of mercy could take it up on himself and burn it faster. But suffering to the body has to take place in either case. Guest guest
there is a slight correction. Bhattatiri sent someone of Thunchath ezuthassan, the one who wrote Ramayana in vernakular poetry, asking what the cure is. The messenger reached him when he had just finished his daily pooja and was lying down singing "parA parA parAma paahimaaM..." which the messenger assumed was nonsense and that Ezuthachan must be drunk. He was drunk - not from alcohol but divine grace- and ezuthassan said Bhattathiri must "start" eating fish. The messenger was scandalised still went to Bhattathiri and conveyed the reply. Bhattatiri understood the meaning and started writing the ten shloka groups starting from Matsya avatara at Guruvayoor. And he was cured. Even now the sri yantra that Ezuthassan worshipped can be seen at the samadhi of this great man. ganapathy = = vijaya <srividya101 wrote: swami <swami32 wrote:Mon, 26 Jul 2004 11:03:30 +0400 swami Fw: [kamakotimuscat] Re: Problems - grief - Sri Vidya Upasana ganapathymama , Ganapathy Vijaya Namaskarams.
