Guest guest
namasthe, In the introduction section of Tripura Rahasya by Ramanshram, the following paras come. "In Sutra Bhasya (the commentary on Brahma Sutras), Sri Sankara has used the story of Samvarta as found in Tripura Rahasya, in his commentary on "Apicha Smaryate" (Suutra), with approval. There is a lucid commentary in Sanskrit on Haritaayana Samhita. It is named Tatparya Diipika and written in 4932 of Kali Era (i.e. 1831 A.D.) by one Dravida Srinivasa, son of Vydianatha Dikshita of the village of Mahapushkara in South India." Can someone kindly tell me whether Mahapushkara referred to here is today's Periyakulam city in Theni district, Tamilnadu ? I've been trying to get this information, but haven't been successful. Paramacharyal of Kanchipuram also while visiting Periyakulam once told that "There used to live a great Mahan in this city" without telling the name of the Mahaan. If someone can kindly write more about Mahapushkara, it'd be very helpful. namasthe Prasad
