Guest guest
Dear friend, Pranams. The presence of Navagraha sannadhi, to my knowledge, does not have any reference to the power of the presiding deity of a temple. The practice of worshipping Navagrahas is very ancient. It has been there even before the days of Thirugnana Sambandar. In almost all the Siva temples, Navagraha sannadhis are seen. Very rarely we come across Siva temples without prominent Navagraha sannadhi. Even in these cases, I have noticed there are niches for one or more of these planets viz., Saneeswara, Ankaraka, Sun and Moon. In some big Siva temples, a particular sannadhi becomes famous and very often devotees do not know or do not care to know about the main temple. (ex. Patteeswaram Durgai sannadhi, Tiruvalanchuzhi Vellai Vaaranar sannadhi).
