Guest guest
I remember my mother telling about someone similar who used to reside in Kanyakumari. She was quite a saint is what my mother said. I have seen her photograph. She was quite unkempt with a lot of dogs. In the 80's, when my mother and two of her friends went to have a darshan of her, She gave kungumam to both my mother and one of her friends. When asked by the third person for kungumam, She did not give her. Instead She smiled and went about her way. A month later that friend's husband died. If I remember right they call her 'kanyAkumAri mata' (??). I don't think anybody has seen her for a long time now. I am not sure if it the same person. Aarathi. Grainofdust
Dear Sri Rajendran and Smt Aarathi, I have information which might be of interest to you. Some 24 years ago, Mayamma left Kanyakumari. She was accompanied by Sri Rajendran who used to look after her on the seashore, like an attendant or devoted son. She left for Salem, and lived there with Sri Rajendran and his family. She lived in Salem for about 7 years. She went into Samadhi some 17 years ago in that house. A beautiful Samadhi Mandir has now been built at the site. Here's the address for you: Mayamma Kovil, Chinnakollappatti, Law College Stop, Salem 636008, Tamil Nadu.
