Guest guest
Pranams. rudraksh trees are found in nepal and in north asia. Rudraksh ® is a fruit and covered like a walnut shell and the shell has to be cut to remove R out. R has faces between one to 21 and 38 types are found. A rudraksha having a trisul, om marks, linga, Conch are all sure fakes. There is also a fruit of a certain type of tree which looks almost like Rudraksh which is grown in UP and MP in India and this Fruit is safely passed as R to an unsuspecting custmer. Devi Purana, Shiv Purana, Padma purana etc talk about the auspiciousness of R. it is believed that the smaller the size of R the more power it gives to the wearer. Mool mantra done with a rosary of R would give the Ekagra Chitta.. The rosary is to be worn only during the prayers and has to be kept separately in a scared place. A Single Rudraksha can be worn for 24 Hrs. I remember having seen a show on Bombay Doordarshan before 25 years a Yoga teacher demonstrating to identify Sathvic, Rajasic and Tamasic foods with the help of a Rudrakash tied as a Simple pendulam to a stand and when any food stuff was brought below the rudraksh, it makes a rotation of varying speeds, clock wise for sathvic or anti clockwise for thamasic or does not rotate for rajasic. the speed of rotation were also varying indicating the degree of it. For Meat, Garlic and certain types of Dhal which i do not remeber now, it was rotating at a good speed in anticlock wise direction. for Milk, Spinachs, certain vegeatbles were very Sathvic and so on. scientifically Rudraksh has been tested by IIT Mubai professors with modern instruments and it shows a higher Electro Magnetic properties. I had written a mail in Ambaa group on this long back with the name of the Book also which I borrowed it from my friend. The safeway to get a Good ruraksha Rosary is to request HH Jayendra Swamygal directly indicating your ansushtanas. If he is convinced he would bless us with one. This is how the writer of the Mail got it. As Sri Mutt is connected with the Kingdom of Nepal and HH are the Raj Gurus for the Royalty the Mutt directly gets the Pure Rudraksha from sources close to Royalty. Also in Haridwar one can safely buy from Ashrama of HH Dayananda saraswathi whose disciples Sadhus ensure that they procure Pure R for the devotees. I have booked for a one faced R which is extremely rare. This R is worn for getting Advaithic Bhava and reputed for increasing Bhakthi Bhava. I cant vouch for the purity of R sold in any shops or say in shops around Sri Mutt also, as business is done moving the sentiments of the buyer than the quality. sorry if I am harsh on this as i feel dejected if anybody is cheated on faith. This reminds me of an episode before 15 years at Haridwar in a shop where I tried to buy a good Navaratna Mala and when I chose a qood quality , I could not buy it immediately as i fell short of few hundred rupees and the shop was not accepting Credit cards. The shop was also Posh and Air Conditioned . The owner asked for an advance of Rs 500 which I paid promptly and he promised me to send it by VPP within a week. After ten days the Mala arrived by VPP -- paid the balance and eagerly opened to find that it was of such a poor quality I was very upset . Immediately I wrote a few strong letters, only to finally discard the Navratna stone mala. Ganapathy "R. I could get a 5-faced rudraksha bead for as low as Rs.5/- at Dubba Chetty shop in Mylapore, while one has to pay a good price if it is to be bought (or atleast, claimed to!) from Shirdi or Nepal. I also believe Ramakrishna Mission has some good rudraksha beads/mala available. I am not sure if anyone has anuy information. One can get rudraksha mala from the Sri Matam in Kanchi, but I found the holes were not natural and more often the holes hit the face of the bead, though the person selling them claims to have got them from Nepal. Maybe if we spend a lot of time we can inspect and buy. I wonder if there are places where we can buy rudraksha beads or mala at affordable prices. I wonder if there are some yardsticks to check while trying to purchase rudraksha. Best wishes R. Guest guest
Pranams There is a Rudra centre is Nagpur that sells Rudhraksh which are said to be very genuine.(www.rudracentre.com) It is run by a ITT professor who now does this full time. He is said to have done considerable research and practise with various rudhrakshs. He says he has personally experienced the effects of genuine rudhrakshas,as prescribed the puranas that Ganeshji has mentioned. My knowledge on this subject is poor, but experience after wearing them and using them for Japa has been quite good and encourging. The energy in the exhibition and from this person has been quite intense and meditative. My 2c pl. aparAdha kshamA.
