Infinite Thanks for the Wonderful Post and the Quote of Ramana .

SharaNagati or Total surrender -- is easier to be talked about than to practice

it. One may understand it but would suddenly change at the appropriate time when

it is required. If one has the ability to practice it, in times of an extreme

distress or when livid, we can say safely that there is some amount of progress

towards this end.

These golden Words of Ramana, which reflects the aspirants Nature with its

inherent weakness, would be very useful to get over it, if one Consciously, and

Continuously Contemplate on its Contents while doing any Upasana.

Therefore it is worth to be PRINTED to decorate the Puja room for its contents

and at least ponder on it whenever one looks at it .

To share a personal Experience of mine with a YOGI at chennai before few years,

when I queried out of my ignorance to him , as to when Ambaa would give a

Darshan ,

– He smiled and replied . How can you Order that and it is Her Sweet will

and explained how to a Muslim who was a Security Guard at Kapali temple at

Mylapore Chennai - Ambaa used to regularly give a Dharshan and can we ask her

WHY like that ?

– Further He instructed me to pray Constantly to Ambaa, so to change me

to think and Act in a way under any circumstances that would Please HER ALWAYS.

(Golden Message indeed)

think you have surrendered. SHE knows what is best and when and how.

Leave everything entirely to HER, the burden is HERS.

You have no longer cares. All your cares are Hers. That is surrender.

That is bhakti"

(This message has notes on 4 items)

Note 1:

Original version of this quote refers to iishwara in Masculine gender such

as HE, HIS, HIM etc. I changed it to SHE, HER etc. for my personal use. This

quote is part of my daily sharaNagati smaraNam and I did not think changing

the gender would change the substance of the quote. I did so because, I like

to worship God in the form of shrImAtA.

This quote was taken from the following book quite a while ago and was

reproduced from my notes.

Rigopoulos, Antonio, 1962-

The life and teachings of Sai Baba of Shirdi / Antonio Rigopoulos.

Albany : State University of New York Press, c1993.

xxviii, 466 p. : ill. (some col.), map ; 24 cm.

SUNY series in religious studies.

And also deals with the concept of sharaNagati from various angles. If I am

not mistaken, it was originally as PhD dissertation. I read this book few

years ago and quite expensive to buy (around 70 USD).

Note 2:

The word shvapacha means literally dog-eater. I translated it as chaNDaLa.

Probably it would make more sense as generally meat-eater and specifically

those who eat cows, pigs etc.

Note 3:

sambhrama means haste or hurry. It could also be translated as what is my

concern.

Note 4:

I agree with Sri Ganapathy that this should be part of once constant

remembrance. I have put together some verses and notes for my daily

sharaNagati smaraNam and this quote is first in the list. Somebody like me

who is completely messed up and mixed up in the world, needs to read this

whenever possible and at least once daily.

Thanks.

Ravi
