A) I think you can infer this from the uttara piiThika of both trishatii and

sahasranama. Whatever its says as the requirement to receive initiation to

these texts (minus the rquirement that they should be initiated to

shriividya itself) can be taken as the basic requirement for getting

initiated into shriividya. For instance, see the text from trishatii at

http://ambaa.org/archives/msg03431.html. SahasranAma also mentions similar

requirements.

 

B) I think the matter is between the guru, shishhya, and bhagavatI. If She

is displeased She will do what is necessary. As the governor of this Cosmos,

nothing escapes Her attention. Hence, we need not be concerned.

 

 

C) Regarding the requirements, some teachers study the horoscope of the

person before initiating the student (I know a specific case). Especially,

when the teacher is skilled in jyotishha, he can get additional insight

beyond what he/she can perceive with senses. In fact, they also study the

horoscope before granting sannyAsa -- just avoid any potential errros. Of

course if the teacher is a brahma jnAni, then he/she will know everything.
