Guest guest
A) Not all traditions agree that there are three hundred names in the so called "rudra-trishati" derived from shrii rudram. The book titled "mahanyAsam" published and distributed freely by Mylapore Veda Adhyayana sabha addresses this issue in pages 241-243 of their book. I tend to agree with their views. They clearly show that there is sanction in shastra-s to do archana (as namaavali) based on that. But no indication of that as a trishatI - in all famous bhaashhyams. Also by their count you will get only 128 phrases for archana. They also hold that it is not correct to add additional namaH etc to that; and the breaks have to done carefully. More importantly, rudram when started has to be completed. So after the archana, remaining stanzas and chamakam has to be chanted. This is book published in Tamil. Overall, this adhyayana sabha started by paramacharya has done wonderful service in publishing works related to our dharma (in Sanskrit-Tamil). B) According to shiva dampati themselves, lalita trishati is a sarvapUrtikari stuti and by itself is much more than adequate and complete. Adding stuff to that to make it more complex or elaborate may not be necessary. My 2c. Ravi
