Guest guest
a) I was reading a translation of rudram by Swami Amritananda (RK Math) and he refers a lot to vishhNu sUri's (VS) commentary. It is indeed a great delight to read vishhNu sUri's take on rudram. He approaches it from adhyAtma view point. b) Swami Amritananda completely skips VS's commentary for second anuvAkA noting that it too technical and beyond the scope of his book. But mentions that it interprets the second anuvAkA as srividyopasana. In the introductory remarks he mentions that VS's intros to some (many) of the verses can be compiled into a wonderful manual on advaita vedAnta. (i) Can some point me to the original/translations of vishnu suri's commentaries? Amritananda does not give complete reference but mentions anandAshrama publications as the source. (ii) Are there some good indology books shops in Hyderabad? I asked Jayalakshmi Indological Book house in Chennai and they do not seem to have it. BTW Swami Amritananda's translation is very good. HE presents what he considers as best from different bhaashhya-s (such as sAyana, bhaTTa bhaskara, abhinava Sankara, vishhNu sUri, etc.) Thanks Ravi

Commentaries on Rudram and other works are published in Telugu by Sri Rama Publishers 15-1-513, Siddhambar Bazaar Hyd- 500 012. As far I know they publish these in Sanskrit with Telugu script. I guess that should not be much of a problem in your case. Another place to look is Tagore Publishing house, Hyd- 27 I once saw lots of good books(in many languages but mostly in English) in the book store in Birla Mandir. You may first want to try here. You may also want to try at Sri Venkateshvara Arsha Bharati trust Gurukripa 1-10-140/1, Ashok nagar , Hyd- 500 020. Other than these one can find some good material(mostly puranas in sanskrit) in Gita press shop in Secunderabad railway station (platform 1 I think - to the far left if entering from main entrance).
