I am 36 years old currently living in Jacksonville, FL, USA. I am originally from Hyderabad, AP india and came to USA as a software programmer in 1994. I am a US citizen now. I hailed from a strong pandithArAthya saivate brahmin family from AP. To know more about pandithArAthya please visit the website, http://sroutasaivasiddhanta.org/index.htm Please note this is a non-profit web site and a professionally managed site. It may be down at times. My father used to worship both Siva and Devi. Although I am a SivaLingaDhari since 1996, I was not very spiritually active until a few years ago. When saw your question about my devotional interest I recollected a stotram by mahA siva bhaktha, "appayya dEkshatulu" that accurately depicts my feelings towards sAmba. It goes: sAmbo naH kula daivatam sAmbA tvadEyAvayam sAmbam staumi surAsurora gagaNa sAmbena santAritAH sAmbAyastu namo mayAvarachitam sAmbAt parannobhajE sAmbasyAnu charosmyaham mama ratihi sAmbE para bramhani One "Mr.sAmavEdam shanmukha sharma", a sankrit scholar converted it to Telugu and I translated that into English. Anyway it means, That sAmba is my kula daivam Oh sAmba, I am yours I am writing stotras (or praying) on sAmba All sura and asura forces scared by sAmba (possibly at praLayam) My salute is for sAmba (it may also mean.. My salute is only for sAmba) More than sAmba, I want nothing I am a slave of sAmba My interest, love, devotion is with sAmba, the one inseperable from Amba, the supreme bramhan. Notice the use of That, Than, On, By, For, Of and With prepositions. Shankar Mail - now with 250MB free storage. Guest guest
Appreciate your kind words. I will do the best I can to be a valuable member. The main reason that I came across this web group is that I am looking for Sanskrit/English/Telugu scripts for 1) Devi Mahimna Stotram 2) Mrutyunjaya Sahasranama Stotram. Both of these stotras are quite powerful and its a pleasure to recite them. Mrutyunjaya Sahasranamam is full of Bijaksharams and its a rare and most potent Siva Sahasram. It bestows happiness just by listening to it once. This Sahasram is recited by kAla bhairava himself. Can any of you help me find these scripts/books? I really appreciate your help on this. Thanks Shankar Mallampalli , ganapathy = = vijaya <srividya101> wrote: > Very novel introduction indeed and I seem to learn much from your introduction itself and look forward to your valuable contribution. > > regards
