Guest guest
Namaste, Here is a brief introduction to chakras, hope list members find it useful. 1. Patanjali defines yoga as citta vRtti nirodha. 2. Any manifestation of citta vRtti thus provides a tool to approach yoga. 3. From experience people have discovered that citta vRttis manifest at specific places in the body. 4. These places are shakti chakras. 5. Meditation on these shakti chakras thus provides a systematic technique to control citta vRtti. (Systematic since, people have discovered that a class of citta vRtti always manifests in the same shakti chakra). Personal opinion: understanding chakras via citta vRtti(s) can be a much safer approach to chakra yoga than use of haTha yoga methods or bIja mantras. Guest guest
>Nameste, >Can you give more info on what citta vRtti is about. >Thanks, Namaste, Loosely speaking any tendency of "mind" (antaH karaNa) can be called citta vRtti. citta is that aspect of antaH karaNa associated with anusamdhan, thus a more carefully worded description of citta vRtti is 'habitual tendency of the "mind" '. (please look up information on yoga sutras, lot of information is available on the web, and citta vRtti is the very first concept in the 1st sutra). Guest guest
Namaste, I must say that I am in my preliminary stages of understanding the chakras and will not be able to answer your question with much confidence. There are however, highly advanced sadhaks on this list. They may kindly take this question up.
