YES, It is disgusting to be aware of the events currently happening in a place that once hosted innumerable magnanimous saints, bhaktas, avatara purushas, yogis, kavis. sAkshat parameshvara svaroopa sri. Adi shankara described this kamakshi peetham in soundarya lahari. Kamakoti peetham is a "Moksha Puri" (where kama (desires) come to koti (dissolve)) and a shakthi peetham. Many swamis engaged in extreme devotion to our mother 'Kamakshi' and many more with their divine services to hindu religion made this peetham a splendid center of Hindu Sanatana dharma. Tamilnadu, a state that once lead saiva siddanta, a place that gave shelter to sages like agustya, mooka kavi, sankara, a place from where innumerable kaavyas, grandhas were born, is now treating brahmins and that too seventy year old peethathi pathi like dirt. Tamilnadu government should hold its chest high for having a "divya" peetham like 'kama koti' and instead its trying to tarnish its image for political benefits. The government interests would be best served if it respects these saints with 'prema' and do whatever necessary to preserve the sanctity of the peetham. The people of Tamilnadu that once set an example to rest of the world by following sanatana hindu dharma should be really careful at this time and not get swayed by the loathing comments made by news papers and other "naasthika" forces and should try to reinstate sanatana hindu dharma in any way they seem fit. In this context I am quoting a few few statements made by a noble person recently "...whatever it is, our Mother Kamakshi is not only a swaroopa of motherly love and a symbol of patience but also a shakthi that is a swaroopa of "khaatinyam" to erase asuri forces. The grief caused to a "yateendra" would come back many times stronger and wallop all involved. prnatajanataapavargaa kritarNa sargaa sasimha samsargaa kamaakshi mudita bhargaa haritapu vargaa tvameva saadurgaa. We should all sincerely pray that force which is `devakaarya samudyata' to eliminate these asuri forces and reinforce the sanctity of the divya peetham..."
