Guest guest
Dear learned members: in LS, we get Her name as one who enjoys being worshipped with secret libations - rahastarpana tarpitaya namaha. Can somebody educate me on what these secret libations are ? Pranams Ganesh
Guest guest
Namaste, >One's Upasana should be protected with utmost secrecy which is >called as " Rahasya Tarpanam " and She is pleased ony with such >worship. According to another commentary on LS tarpaNa here is to be understood in the sense of pUja. Hence rahasya pUja. One who receives secret pUja. Bhaskara raya(who is a kaula) does not mention any libation. As shri Ganapathyji pointed out, this name has to do with internal worship. > It would be relevant to the subject matter of this mail, to recall >how HH Pujya Chidanandar performed Nava Varana Puja for 12 years >secretly as per instructions of his Guruji HH Guhananadar , on the >terrace of his house. Even to his spouse it was kept confidential >and his Patra Sadhanam for the puja comprised of empty shells of >the coconut. -- This is Rahasya Tarpanam. Coconut shells seems to be acording to the Kerala sAmpradAya. pAtra is different for gauDa(Bengal) sAmpradAya, and a sphATika pAtra seems to be in usage in Kashmir sAmpradAya.
