While it is a practice to chant Vishnu Saharanama including Uttara bhagas, for

some strange reasons, an erroneous practice has come into Vogue, to Chant LS

without its purva and uttara bhaga.

 

As per a yogi chanting LS without these bhagas was compared to chanting DM

without Kavacha, Argala and Keelaka mantras and emphasized that one may not get

the full benefit of chanting LS. He had urged the devotees assembled there, to

learn this at the earliest and include them in the anushtanams.

 

When one does LS archana it is not obligatory to chant these bhagas. It is also

better to include the preliminaries such as ganapathy puja and the sankalpa ,

even if it is Nishkamya such as Lokakshema or for lalitha Prrethy -- This is

done, not only to strictly follow the procedures laid down by our masters and

but also to train the next generation .

 

To recall Maha Swamy's words........" When it comes to Shastras, It is better

not to do anything than to adopt or alter the Shastras and Sampradayas to one's

own convenience. "

With so many rules in worship it now seems a burden. And you hardly find

anyone showing you the way to accomplish the worship but showing you way

to make worship harder or a virtually impossible task. Are these smart

people helping us learn or are they helping us quit worship due to fear

of not being complaint? This is what I ask myself.
