Invoking the Blessings of Guru Ji , Maha Ganapathy and Kula Devatha this is my

first posting on the on going discussions on the various LS Namavali .

“ Lalithambhika -- LS 1000 “

Out of the billions of Choices that were available to name the ParaBrahman the

Vaak Devies have chosen the two Best names to begin this LS and also to end this

LS.

The first one chosen by them is Sri Matha which reveals their infinite Love to

Divine Mother and the last Namavaly that unfolds the Mother’s name is “

Lalithambika “. So one may consider these two names as the Most important

namavaly in LS.

Lalitha has different meanings. Plainly speaking Lalithabika means the beautiful

Mother with a name of Lalitha.

As she is the Supreme Mother of Cosmos She is ambika named Lalitha – So She is

Lalithamika.

Lalitha also means “ to Play “ -- She is an eternal Player and her cosmic play

consists of Creation, Maintenance, and reabsorbtion of the Universe into

Herself.

As per Padma Purana – She is known as Lalitha because of Her presence in the Sri

Chakra in the Bindu with an indescribable radiance controlling the Avarana

Devathas . as per this Purana She is worshipped in Prayag. Also in Tamil Nadu

there is a dedicated temple for Lalitha at Thiru Meeyachur.

Lalitham also means apart from what that gives happiness, the other eight

aspects like incandescent, manifestation, charm, depth, permanency, supremacy,

kindness and liberal Thus She possess all the Rasa including the Karuna. She

empowers everything as Lalitham and hence She is Lalitha.

The Supreme perfection of Love and the Bliss that pervades all the three states

of life is called Lalitha. Lalitha also means the extraordinary gorgeousness of

Mother’s manifestation.

Her form is depicted as extremely beautiful with color of scarlet red holding

bow of sugarcane, arrows, the goad and the noose in her four hands. The bow

represents the Mind through which we all experience all joy and the arrows are

the Pancha Tan matras the five subtle elements whose products are the sense

organs, which are discharged through the mind towards the sense objects.

In summary lalitha is the SOLE POWER that energises and controls the Mind and

sense organs. The noose is the attachment and goad or ankusha is aversion.

Those who forget Lalithambika are bound with pasha and hurt with Krodha and

those who take refuge in Her are set free to merge in Her.

Lalitha is the sum total of all functional energies and she is seated on the

five lifeless deities brahmma, Vishnu, rudra, ishwara and sada Shiva. Known as

pancha praetha. She is in Sri Chakra and our body itself is a Sri Chakra and the

Sripura is in our heart as well as externally. She is seated on a cot of the

five deities as aforesaid and Sada Shiva forms the Plank on which The Supreme

Lalitha majestically rests united with her spouse Kameshwara which is the

Unconditional Pure consciousness and she is known as Kameshwari .

Lalitha in one sentence is Existence bliss and Consciousness.

To recap out of billions of names of ambaa OM the Vaak shakthies of ambaa had

their choice in the name of “ Lalithambika” which is Lalitha and ambika. Ambika

means Mother and also the first namavaly is also Sri Matha – Mother . Therefore

both are the Most important name and similar ones .
