Guest guest
Pranams. When we say that Anger is one of the Lakshanas of the Supreme, the immediate response from us could be that getting short tempered is OK and a Normal quality. ( Complacency When the supreme itself gets angry.) I would like to clarify that our Anger is due to Likes and dislikes arising out of attachment or aversion to any materials living or non living. It arises Non Dharmically, spontoneously, without any control, when a certain expectation or event , is out of the control of our Mind. In the process we damage our body and mind. This happens as a matter of routine also without any effort to correct it from our part inspite of knowing the problem. When the party to the anger is a guy of different status or if powerful , it changes to Fear. So anger and fear are same. Where as, Jivan Mukthas would take Anger at their will and only when required ..The next moment they would be Calm or peaceful , as if nothing has happened. An ordinary mortal's anger would not only linger on, disturb the near and dear, shake the surroundings but also could take a serious form as a revenge and counter revenge. This reminds me of an incident during the life of Maha Swamy. Initially the resources of Sri Mutt were not adequate and that was was the time when the devotees started to flock Maha Swamy for his Tapasya and this created additional financial pressures. A wealthy devotee who had contributed substantially and regularly to the Mutt, once during an arguement with Maha Swamy , made a tall reference to his financial contribution to the Mutt and pin ponited this, as a reason for the Mutt's financial health . This enraged Maha Swamy to go the extent of summoning the Manger and ordered him to pay back all the contributions of that person together with interest at market rate . For a moment that person could not comprehend what was happening before his eyes and immediately fell flat at the holy feet of Maha Swamy seeking pardon for his blunder which arose out of his Ego. The next second Maha Sawmy's face was glowing with peace to confirm as if no incident took place. He made the devotee to sit and offered fruits blessing him .. Devotees of Sringeri Mutt have also narrated few incidents like this of Jagath Guru Abhinav Swamy. I hope through this incident , I have conveyed what I wanted to say. Guest guest
Namasthe. There was a private mail and I thought of sharing this with the devotees who may have some contradictions on the subject of the mail. Quote : This narration and your conclusion - "She is angry with the jivas who do not show bhakthi to Her and act Non dharmically" are NOT matching at main concept itself for me. Reply : Who is jiva who acts non- Dharmically. ? Here the Jiva refers to the body of the subject who is deluded by Maya and gives importance to his Body, mind, intelligence complex and succumbs to the Rationality. Such bodies behave against the Dharma carried away by their desires, influenced by ahamkara and mamakara. Such Jivas are not Atmas but refers to the Body only. Here the Ambaa or a Jivan Muktha through Anger ( not to be confused with a mortal's anger ) does a anugraha to rectify the mistake and thus making realize the body to be a better person for the ultimate Truth of Gyana in this birth itself or in the births to take place. Quote : Chandika means ANGER. She is angry with the jivas who do not show bhakthi to Her and act Non dharmically. . > anger or rage is also one of the Lakshanas of Brahman Subsequently I have responded to another mail on the subject as to how through anger Ambaa or other form have given the eternal bliss by taking anger . Also in few of the mails on DM, I have discussed in detail the " Significance Of Asuras in DM " which refers to the Jiva corrupted by Ego and desires to Act non Dharmically. Observation from the devotee : " Swamy was not against that man, he was aginst the thought that have been cultivated/arose in his bhakta's mind that are seemingly increasing the distance from swamy to bhakta." Who is a Man and who is God ? : The simple formula is : Man plus realization is God and Man minus realization is the Man or the body. ( So it can be said Maha Swamy showed anger and was aagainst the Man or the body to bless it , to realize the self by removal of ego ) The word Jiva is also used sometimes for the Atman as Jivatma and hence the confushion. So the next post would be to discuss the LS -- " Atma" which would give more clarity to this mail. The TRUTH of LS Namavlies have to be absorbed " Integratedly" and sometimes when seen separately , may lead us to unnecessary contradictions. Further discussions Welcome. In your reply itself, you told that maha swamy showed some anger-form and once the jIva fell flat on feet with bhakti to swamy(a jIvan mukta - Ambaa herself), he blessed him in peace. This narration and your conclusion - "She is angry with the jivas who do not show bhakthi to Her and act Non dharmically" are NOT matching at main concept itself for me. Swamy was not against that man, he was aginst the thought that have been cultivated/arose in his bhakta's mind that are seemingly increasing the distance from swamy to bhakta. she is against the bad thoughts that arise in the 'field of mind' of any jIva. And when that jIva falls flat at her feet, She as Chandika - annihilates those bad thoughts from the jIva's mind and when these thoughts gone, peace automatically surfaces which is ever present in jIva, but at the bottom/behind of mind though. She is NOT against the jIvas. How can your mother turns against you? - even though certain bad thoughts are araising in your mind because of avidya or prakriti lakshaNa, etc(also she is indeed those avidya etc or cause of bad thoughts too. - may be I am wrong here). The moment you grab her feet as refuge, like Gajendra did in gajendra moksham (I believe this story in Vishnu bhagavatam is to tell us about getting refuge at god's feet) that's all with god's grace you open up yourself to Chandika or the goddess to manifest in yourself via Guru. And one more thing, Devi mahatyam also tells that these flurry bad thoughts or rAxasa gaNAs, once killed by Chandika like this they also reborn/become gods or good thoughts.
