sub: Jwaalaamaalinika akshiptha vahni praakaara madhyaga.

Priya mahaasayaah,

Let us examine who this Jwaalamaalimika is, before

anything to say.

It is said that it is the forteenth kala of the moon phases. ie., one kala less

than the poornima, the fifteenth kala, and again remaining only with one phase

before the amaavaasya. There is another one phase also called "Amaa kalaa".

"Shodasa kala poornah purushah". We can attribute this as the bindu chakra, ie.,

Siva tathwa itself. This phase will be in a hidden state like a string in the

beads, which actually keeps all the beads together to form as a garlend. If we

say this Amaavaasya and poornima, the fifteen phased kalaas are in the trikona

chakra, the next one, the forteenth phase should remain in the astaara chakra,

with its eight cones around the trikona chakra. Of course, we cannot fix up one

one kala in each of the nine chakraas. That is a different matter.

In the month of Kartrrka every year, we observe a

Vratam by regular poojaas every day to the lord Siva, and in the evenings we

hang up a light tied at the top of a long pole, naming it as Aakaasa deepam; and

at the end of the month, ie., kaarteeka poornima we celebrate a function named

" Jwaala Thoranam", arranging a number of lights in a row for the delightment of

lord Siva.

This Karthika poornima occurs when the moon enters

into the constellation of Krittika. This constellation is a group of so many

stars, but appear to the naked eye as seven in number. Krittika is considered

to belong to the agni daivatyam. The seven stars are said to be the seven

tongues,or jwaalaas of the fire god. They are Kali, Karaali, Manojava,

Sulohitha, Sudhuumra varna, Sphulingini, Vishwaroopi. These seven jihwaas

appear like a garlend, hense called as "Jwaalaamaalinika"

If we say this Jwaalaamaalinika is situated in the

astaara Chakra, which is also considered as belongs to Suddha vidya tatthwa,

(the agni tatthwa ie.,gnanaagni tatthwa).

This astaara chakra is a sakthi chakra, and its

relative siva chakra is astadalaambujam, the eight peteled lotus is situated in

the agnimandala Manipuuraka kamalam. This is in fact the shadow of the astaara

chakra. Astadalaambujam represents to avidya, which is also another form of fire

only.

This astadalaambujam appears like as if it were thrown

down (Aakshipthah) by the astaara chakra, ie., Jwaalaa maalinika. This actually

gives us an impression like a circle, hense called vahni praakaaram.ie.,

Jwaalaamaalinika-aakshiptha vahni praakaaram.

In the centre of this praakaara it is said in the

sahasranamaas, that the holy mother, the kundalini is situated.

" Thatho bahissarvato2gni jwaala maalaah parivrithaah"

We cannot go deeper in this aspect. "Kaula prathisthan na kuryaat"
