Guest guest
mahAgaNapataye namaH SrImAtre namaH 1) This chandramAna year "pArthiva" (April-9-2005 to March-30-2006) is dedicated to Sri lalitA sahasranAma. This will be the main focus of this year. 2) Other subjects matters will be allowed, but with a limited scope based on some of the following guidelines: a) All the existing series will be allowed to continue. By existing series, we mean those series that were actively posted in the last few months. b) No new series will be allowed to start. This is to keep the focus on sahasranAma. c) Members are requested to post only one non-SahasranAma posting per day. Try your best to keep this posting text centered. That is, it can ask about a text, its meaning, applicability or a discussion pertaining to the verses in the text. d) These restrictions exclude ADMIN posts. e) Moderators can request a thread be stopped if it is distracting us from the main focus. f) Moderators can also make exceptions to these. In general, we will make sure that all important contributions are posted. 4. It is suggested that all of us use a specific version of ITRANS scheme that will work with Itranslator 2003 or other standard Itrans tools. This will help us to convert the posts to devanAgari/roman font if needed. Using a standard scheme will also make the search easier. Vowels: a A i I u U R^i R^I L^i L^I e ai o au aM aH Consonants: k kh g gh N^ ch Ch j jh ~n T Th D Dh N t th d dh n p ph b bh m y r l v S Sh s h L Specials: x for kSh. ..n/.m for anusvAra ..c for ardhachandra ..N for chandrabindu ..a for avagraha ..h for halant H for visarga Even though ITRANS allows aa/A, ii/I etc. typing lalitA will match closer the standard English spelling Lalita (under a case insensitive search). On the other hand, lalitaa will escape the radar, unless one is careful. See Itranslator 2003 help for detailed map. 5) This focussed effort will succeed only if you choose to participate. Hence, your active participation is requested. 6) What is posted should not be a cut & paste from WWW, unless it was you who wrote it in the first place. But can be from published books. More than copyright violations, we are concerned about creating a new internet content. 7) Translations can be posted in any language, provided you chose to add (or refer to another post with) English translation with it. Clearly mention the language in the beginning of the text. Use ITRANS if it is an Indian language. 8) Posting of the names need not follow the order. It can be any order. 9) Entire discussion will be posted on the website. And work will be under free documentation license of GNU. Please post only if you agree to that. 10) Moderators reserve the right to change these rules based on how the discussion progresses.
