Guest guest
pranams to all i have given below my humble submission related with LS 405. please forgive me if there is any mistake and correct me. LS - 405 - sivadhOti 1. one who has the sivA as dhOtA (messanger). the story of sending sivA as messanger is there in dEvI mahAtmiyam (8th chapter). ambA sends sivA as dhOtA to asurAs sumbhA and nisumbhA (due to her overwhelming karunA) to give them a chance to correct themselves. 2. this is the name of the titi nityA devis for sukla paksha saptami (7th day) and krisna paksha navami (9th day). 3. the presiding goddess at pushkara kshEtram is called as sivadhOti (padma purAnA in pushkara kAndA says this) 4. ambA sends to us as messages/ messengers - the mangala (good things) to correct us. (here sivA means not the sivA but the siva gunAs and the mangalA. the worldly pleasures (can i use this word?) (or the best things in this world), are being bestowed by her on us to turn us towards her. in other words, the upAsakAs of ambA are having these qualities. also it is said that when the sAkta upAsakA starts and continues with his upAsanA, he will be bestowed with many things (sidhies, etc). comparison : abhirAmi bhattar says in his abhirAmi andhathi "vaiyam thuragam madakari mAmagudam sivigai peyyum kanagam peruvilai Aram pirai mudittha aiyam thirumanaiyal aditthAmaraikku anbu munbu seyyum tavamudaiyArkku ulavAgiya chinnangalE" (land, horses, elephants, great crown (kinghood), pallakku, showering gold, costly ornaments are the identifications/ lakshanAs of those who are having the tapas of the "earlier" love (bhakti in previous births or in the past) on the louts feet nAyaki of the one who wears chandrA) but also i have to remember that these are only messengers and preliminary ones. later she comes directly. she gives HERSELF (bhavAnitvam) when the bhaktA asks for her only and not for these worldly things. (like a mother who gives the crying baby all sorts of things (sweets, playing things, her voice, etc) untill it cries for HER only throwing (rejecting) all these play things. with many pranams vaidyanathan
