Guest guest
Sub: L.S 11 "nijAruna praBhApUra majjad brahmAnda mandalA" >From :- sriparasukhanandanadha October 16, 2005 There is one story in the purAnAs--- In the beginning, Brahma the creator was having five heads. He was alone, and no one others were there for company. So he wanted to have another one as his company. He has meditated for company. Then a female deer appeared before him. That was very beautiful and attractive. One of the five heads of brahma has seen that beautiful deer with lustful eyes. He wanted that deer to become his spouse. Brahma has taken the form of a male deer (mriga) and started running after that female deer. The deer was his own creation and almost his own daughter like one. The whole universe was aghast at this unlawful act ( adharma ) of brahma. Lord Siva noticed it and he was very furious with anger and severed off that head of brahma which looked at the daughter like deer with shameless mind. That head which was cut off from brahma has remained roaming in the sky with the name of ‘mrigasIrSha’, the biggest of all the constellations in size. Since then the brahma became a four headed one. Here we have to understand that the five headed brahma and the five headed Siva are not two different individuals, but the same Siva who remained singly alone, after the complete destruction of the universe has become the five headed brahma and remained alone before he started to create the universe again. He himself became a pasu (mriga) after looking at his own creation. After realization, because there were non else capable of implementing any punishment for the crime, he himself in the form of Siva has severed off that head which committed adharma. The same story is being exclaimed by the vAgdevatAs with this name. Siva after he desired for something else as company, and when he found his own image in the form of the universe, consisting of fourteen worlds, was tempted with intense love and became mad for it. His own Sakti who has accomplished the roll of a mother by satisfying his desire (pASa) has now taken the roll of a father to control him to his position by threatening and teaching how to live happily with the universe (ankuSa, dHanush and bAnAs) Generally the mother and father will always want their children to enjoy the worldly pleasures only, encouraging them to marry a woman, beget children, and promote their own future generation. They always keep their children in darkness about their life after death. The guru is the only person who can enlighten anyone about his own identity and explain how he was passing through innumerable birth cycles; and also show him the right path to come out from that vicious circle. Merciful upon Siva, the Sakti has taken the roll of a guru, initiated with a mantra and asked him to constantly recite it. Siva has obeyed her and started reciting, according to the instructions of his guru. Gradually he has unified and integrated with the mantra and became introspective. Having incorporated with the mantra, he is seeing nothing but only the mantra roopa. Mantra every where mantra in all the objects. Now the name says, “nijAruna prabhA nimajjita brahmAnda mandalA” The word ‘aruna’ is used for the rising sun. Also used for the first son of Vinata Anything with new manifestation rising from bottom upwards can be called ‘aruna’. ‘aruna’ is generally used to denote a mantra i e., ‘vidya’ in tantric sampradAya e.g., 1.“jagadarunam viBhAvayEt”. 2.”sarvam vidyAmayam bHAvayEt” We have to meditate upon every thing (jagat) as mantramayam. (i.e.,arunam). The guru generally asks the sAdhaka to rouse the mantra roopa kundalinmi or the garland of letters upwards from mUlAdhAra towards the brahmarandhra bindu chakra. By constant repetition and observation of the mantra, the sAdhaka will become immersed in it and forgets everything of the external world ( Jagat ) with the powerful existence (prabha) of the mantra. “prakarShena bHatiiti prabhA” “nimajjita brahmAnDa manDalA” -- brahmAnDa is a product emerged out from Siva who is also memorizing the mahAvAkya “aham brahmAsmi”. Mandala means the multitude array of the fourteen worlds mustered in a circular order around him. ‘nimajjita’ means sinking or fading away. With the centralized concentration of mind the sAdhaka forgets every thing of the external world and the whole of the brahmAnDa manDala is totally becomes faded and sunken away from his eye sight. He is immersed completely in the mantra gati only. I welcome any comments or suggestions. sriparasukhanandanadha krishnarao.lanka (sriparasukhanandanadha)
