Guest guest
Namasthe. She is the Supreme Light --- a sum toto of Tejas of all devas as defined in the second Chapter of DM. The KAlika purana Says that She is the abhimana Devatha of Oddyana peeta. She is as KAAmakya at Assam. ( Yoni peetam ). What an average human being can conceive is the speed and the power of light. As She is bearing and also as she is engulfing the whole of cosmos --- she is Katyayani. ( Ka Brahman, shiras and stone ). It is coommon to see Ambaa temples known by the deity -- KAAthayaE in most of the villages in Tamil Nadu. Maha Swamy says the name of Katyayani has transformed this way, In the Dhanur month corresponding to mid december, the scriptures say that the Gopies worshipped Katyayani to get the Lord Krishna as their spouse. In the Kavacha of the DM , She is mentioned as the sixth form of Durga ji. more information can be had from Chandi Navashari Vidya. ganapathy Satish <satisharigela wrote: LS - 556 - kAtyAyanI I confess that I did not understand the sanskrit commentary completely here.
