A doubt on one of the paths reaching the Divine mother

The key here is "adhikAri bhedam" -- that is difference in the

qualification of the students. In some sense, upadesha is like

medicine. When doctor administers medicine, he considers a variety of

factors into account. Two patients with similar conditions may receive

different medicines. Even the same patient may get different medicines

for the same condition at different points in time. Hence, necessity

for different paths is this difference in the qualifications and

aspirations of the seekers.

 

 

The first and foremost question is what is vAmAchAra? Depending on

what one considers to be vAmAchAra, one may even loathe it. For

instance, one of the main teachers of Saiva SiddhAnta -- the great

saint thirumUlar -- says that those who adhere to vAmAchAra will burn

in hell. But again, he does not go into the details of what all he

thinks as that constitute vAmAchara. OTOH, sahasranAma says that

vAmAchAra is OK for those who are qualified to adhere to it.

 

Question of something is good or bad depends on the one's

qualification. SannyAsa may be the most ideal path, but if one is not

ready for it, then what is the point in taking it. Then one becomes

mithAchArin as Lord Krishna says in gItA (that is desiring intensely

at heart and putting on a external show of vairAgya). For someone who

is still sense inclined and has desires, going through marriage,

having children, home, possesions, etc. and having some positive

outlet within the framework of sampradAya is better (for that person)

than taking sannyAsa and living a hypocritical life.

 

This is list is closed to discussions on vAmAchAra. That does not mean

we disapprove of someone practising it. May be you should ask your

teacher to explain these matters to you in detail.
