Hello Dear Bhaktas,

Greetings to you all. My name is Kannan Sreenivasachar and am presently

a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the

University of Waterloo, Canada. I was born in Mysore and grew up

in Bombay. I completed my B.E. from Mysore and M. Tech from IIT

Kharagpur. I was at IISc for one year enrolled in Ph.D. and moved

to Waterloo beginning of this year.

I come from a Vadagalai Iyengar family and am associated with

the PeriAndavan Ashramam in Srirangam. Growing up in Bombay, I never

got a chance to delve into the study of Sri Vaishanavism. It was only

when I was in Mysore with my grandparents did I get to

learn some Desikar's stotram, Vishnu Sahasranaamam and Venakteshwara

Suprabhatam. My knowledge of Vishishtadvaitic Philosophy is at

the beginner's level and I feel fortunate to be a part of the

Sri Vaishanava group founded by Mani that is involved in topics

on bhakti and prapatti. I am indeed suprised by the discussions

going on this group and am confident of edifying myself by

reading the scholarly articles contributed by some of the members of

the group. I have enjoyed reading the Sudarshanaashtakam translation

by Sri. Sadagopan and more recently the Garuda dandakam and

Hayagreeva stotram. I have also browsed through the homepage that

Mani maintains and I must commend him for all his efforts.

Thank you for your patience and my greetings again to all of you.

Kannan
