Guest guest
One of the ansers regarding Rama's actions in Ramayana( Surpanaka episode, Vali Vadha and Sita's agnipravesha) is well discussed in an essay in "Many Ramayanas" edited by Paula Richman. I would like what we feel about it rather than what the acharyas say. How would the story be told if Valmiki was in our age of communications and science? I am readin Prof. Al.Herman's " A brief Inroduction to Hinduism" and reccommend it strongly with enthusiasm to our group. He is influenced by Swami Bhaktivedanta. His section on Mohenjadaro Harppa culture is brief and to the point. He simmarizes the various sections (Vedas, Upanishads, Bhakti movememtn etc ) into problems, causes, guiding principles and ways. The book by A.L. Herman is from Westview press.
