Sri Varadhan had brought up an interesting subject for discussion. Before going

into the details of ninda stuthi and all i have a basic doubt here. can anybody

please clarify.

 

For the sake of clarity i have cut and pasted the relevant portion from

smadal.txt.

Sri. Varadhan writes:

 

 

In the above few lines(top 6), our aazhwaar describes Bhoomidevi and says that

there

are three purushaarthaas for the people that inhabit this earth - aRam, poruL

and inbam (i.e dharmam, arththam and kaamam).

cheeraar irukalayum eithuvar '

 

Here aazhwaar says that kaaman is the one that has the most 'sirappu' among

the three purushaarthaas. (My understanding is that 'kaamam' here is

bhagavath

vishaya kaamam )

Those who have attained this purushaartha will have had attained

the other two purushaarthaas.

My question is this:

 

arraar ivaRRin idai adhanai eydhuvar

cheeraar irukalaiyum eythuvar.

 

 

Doesn't this "ivaRRin idai adhanai" mean the center of these three which is

poruL? (aRam - poruL - inbam) OR am i missing something????

 

In the last few lines the aazhwaar even doubts the existence of mOksham and

thereby highlights the significance of the archaa moorthy in this earth.

Could this be bcos the aazhwaar takes the role of an innocent bhaktha ( a girl)

for whom all those concepts of mOksham and everything is like greek and latin

and hence chooses the one easy maargam to reach HIM which is uncontrolled love

towards HIM.

 

 

'adhunirka

yeraarmuyalvittu kaakkaippin povadhe?'

 

 

There is a saying "irukkarathai vittuttu paRakkaRathai pidikkiRaarp pOl" in

tamil which is what the aazhwaar probably means here. The muyal is in our domain

i.e. on the land and kaakkai is flying high....

 

So whichever u understand easily and feel that u can do better, u can proceed

and do that is what he signifies here.
