Guest guest
Dear Prappati Group Members: I would like to thank Sadagopan for the info. on Goddess Durga. Mr. Sadagopan, I read with great interest your article on Purusha Sooktham. In that posting you had mentinoed about the concluding verses of Narayana Sooktham as: "He is Brahma, He is Hari, He is Indra etc.". I think, in the Vaishnava tradition "He is Hari" is not included. It appears that this is not there in the original text. This is explained in Gopala Desikan's book. Also Ramanujacharya in Vedartha Sangraha specifically refers to this verse as one of the supporting arguments for Paratatva-nirnayam. The correct way to say it is: "Sa Brahama, Sa Siva, Sendra, Sokshara Parama Svaraat...". Adi Sankara quotes in Sahasranama Bhashyam :"Vedeshu Pourusham Sooktham, Puraneshu Vaishnavam..", it is clear how important is Purusha Sooktham. It is a must to learn according to our Acharyas.
