Greetings, members of the "Prapathi" group:

I am most grateful to Srimans Mohan Sagar and Nagu Satyan for having

taken the trouble of explaining to us the origins of the word

"Candadai". I admit, with all humbleness, my own ignorance about the

origin of the word. Nonetheless, I am proud to hear that the name

dates back to Sri Ramanujacharya's era !

Nagu Satyan <Nagu.Satyan writes ....

> I believe these families belong to Vaadhulasa Gothram.

I don't mean to speak for all "Candadai's", but I certainly am one !

That perhaps explains why the town that once carried the name

"Candadai" was in AP. This raises another question in my mind:

Why was a place, in the present AP, called "Candadai" ? Does

this have any significance ?

Once again, I thank all those who have shown interest on this issue.

Adiyen,

ananth
