Guest guest
Dear Bhagavatas, I live in Singapore. I visit the Srinivasa Perumal temple here quite often. I have noticed a Perumal called Sri Sudarshana Narasimhar in one of the temple walls. Here, Lord Narasimha is seen with four hands sitting in a Yogic "half-sitting" posture. (this posture is referred to in Tamil as "Kundhi UtkArndhu KoLLuthal". I don't know how to express it in English.). This Lord has Changu and Chakkara in two of the hands with the other two hands kept over his knees. Sri Sudarshana Chakram is depicted on the wall behind his back. I have not seen such a Perumal in the few Divya Dhesams I have visited in India. Can some learned member of the group throw some light on any scriptural references to this Perumal (or) whether this Perumal is seen in any of our Divya Desam's? Thanks and regards, R. Sridharan.
