Guest guest
Dear Members of the Bhakti Group, At the outset, let me apologize for "hiding" until now (I have been a member since september 1996) despite Sri Mani's request for an introduction that accompanied the initial welcome information (last september). I am a student at Texas A & M University. I was fortunate to hear about this list last year from Sri Ravisankar Mayavaram (my colleague here at A&M) and Sri Devanathan (secretary to Ahobila Mutt Jeeyar), and since then my education in our sampradaayam has been growing thanks to some illustrious yet humble teachers in this group. My father/grandfather are from Mannaargudi/Perugavaazhnthaan area, and sometime last year, Sri Sadagopan was kind enough to send me an article he had written on Mannaargudi and Sri Rajagopalan. I had promised him that I will have the article typeset in Tamizh (itrans) and have it perhaps on the web. I am ashamed to admit that I am far from completing this task. However, I am working on this, and I hope to have it ready in the summer. As always, this article of Sri Sadagopan also offers so much insight, and to a person like me who has been to Mannaargudi many many times but is not conversant with the historical and devotional aspects of the place, it is such a treasure. I hope to have this ready soon and share it with the rest of you. I wish to thank each and every one of you for sharing your knowledge/experiences on our sampradaayam and bhakti. I would also like to add that some of us are silent because silence is the best thing we can offer at this time. However, with the blessings of Sriman Naaraayanaa and learned members of this group, we could perhaps one day pass on this knowledge to the best of our abilities to the next generation. adiyEn, --- Govindarajan Rengarajan (Govind)
