manaa vaasanaa chuukavii yerajhaaraa .

manaa kaamanaa soDi re dravyadaaraa ..

manaa yaatanaa thora he garbhavaasii .

manaa sajjanaa bheTavii raaghavaasii .. 21..

manaa = oh, mind!

vaasanaa = desires

chuukavii = escape

yerajhaaraa = repeated cycles of birth-death

manaa = oh, mind!

kaamanaa = lust

soDi = give up

dravyadaaraa = others' wealth and wives

manaa = oh, mind!

yaatanaa = pain

thora = great

garbhavaasii = life in the womb

manaa = oh, mind

sajjanaa = saints

bheTavii = bring to meet

raaghavaasii = to Rama

Oh Mind! these wearisome journeys escape,

O dear Mind! let go the passions for lust and wealth;

Oh Mind! great is the torment of a life in the womb;

O Mind! make me embrace Rama and the saints! .. 21..

manaa = oh, mind

sajjanaa = saintly

hiita = welfare

maajhe = my

karaave = do

raghuunaayakaa = Rama(leader in Raghu's lineage)

dR^iDha = firm

chittii = in the mind and heart

dharaave = hold

mahaaraaja = emperor

svaami = master

vaayusutaachaa = of Hanuman(son of Wind God)

janaa = people

uddharii = uplift,liberate,save

naatha = lord

lokatrayaachaa = of the 3 worlds(waking, dream, deep sleep)

or earth, heaven, nether world
