Guest guest Posted July 21, 1998 Report Share Posted July 21, 1998 In his query dated July 17th, Sri Mani Varadarajan asked whether there were any Tamil people who did not call their father appa.This is very interesting.My reply does not give any direct answer but says that Tamil Vaishnavas like me whose ancestors settled in Andhra(not in places like Tirupathi full of Tamil culture) call their father ayya.Interestingly, all Andhrites other than Tamil Vaishnavas call their father naanna.
